I-box must be go to world
IM part of is a project of the photographers Ivaylo Stoyanov and Milena Kirilova.
The main concept of the project is an interactive exhibition presented outside of the traditional form of “the frame”. The purpose of this interactive presentation is to simultaneously overlap images, people, places, and times. This collection of work reveals the hidden connection between the aesthetic and spiritual preferences between people and images throughout the world. The interactive process of documenting this body of work is the most important element behind this project.
The subjects of the final work are portraits. These portraits are of randomly selected strangers from different places all over the world. The photographers ask the participants to choose an image from a collection of Bulgarian contemporary conceptual photographers. They then ask the participant to hold up the image they selected as both a non-traditional gallery display and portrait style. The new background of setting and subject transforms the original image into a new piece of art. The individual preferences of the participants are further revealed by the amount of photographs they will allow to be taken, their aesthetic choice of the image, where in the world they are from, and the interaction of global sharing. The strangers are given the original signed photograph they chose to take with them as their own souvenir of the interaction. This project explores connections, permanence, and unique moments in time and place.
